Welcome to episode 3 of the Uncommitted 24 presented by Team 24 Lacrosse where today we are going to take a look at the next 2 dozen top uncommitted rising seniors in our region. Included in this episode are 12 dual/multi-sport athletes who we are hoping lacrosse might be part of their college futures. Keep an eye out over the next day or so as we will be posting episode 1 of our Uncommitted 24 for the class of 2023. It will be the first 24 recruits we highlight in that class so you won't want to miss it.
Congratulations to McCallie '22 Weston Hammond from last week's episode 2 who committed to Roanoke College on Monday, and St. Thomas Aquinas '22 Wade Lamon from episode 1 who committed to Flagler College on Tuesday. In addition, we already saw Ryker Demarest announce his commitment to play D1 lacrosse at the University of Vermont, and Will Hedley announce his commitment to play D3 lacrosse at Gettysburg College in the week following episode 1.
We have taken a long hard look at the rising senior class from all over our 9 states to determine who is still left uncommitted and currently looking for that perfect match of studies and athletics. This is not a ranking of any sort, it is simply a list of kids who we have seen play and have proven to us that they have the talent to compete in college. There is still a ton of great talent left in the Deep South from the 2022 class so let's get right into who we have seen play well over the last 12 months of lacrosse:
Attack (5):
Matt Bauer from Palmer Trinity School FL, Miami LC (Varsity Football and Basketball Player at Palmer Trinity) - Matt is a lefty Attackman who uses his athleticism when dodging to shake his defender, good bursts of speed help him to open up necessary space to create offense for his teammates and himself. True athlete and it definitely shows on the field. Bauer is likely under the radar of lacrosse recruiters as many 3 sport athletes sometimes are, but he shouldn't be. This is a kid you want to learn more about before someone else does.
Sam Goss from Wando High School SC, Charleston Elite (Varsity Basketball player at Wando) - Sam uses his size and good stick skills to work his way to the prime shooting areas when attacking the goal. He also possesses good IQ which helps him find open teammates for better looks and works well off ball getting into open space so he can be an option when teammates are dodging, both of those traits are likely a benefit of Goss playing basketball.
Jack Green (A/M) from Montverde Academy FL (formerly at Lakeland High School), Sweetlax Florida/Sweetlax Krakens - Jack has decent size but plays with the physicality of a larger player. Good ball control when dodging even in traffic and doesn't need much space to let it go.
Alec Levy from East Chapel Hill High School NC, DC Express (Varsity Soccer player at East Chapel Hill) - Alec is a skilled finisher, with good vision and timing, who is tough enough to pay the price when working inside.
Will Simonton from Christian Brothers High School TN, No Excuse (Varsity Football Player at Christian Brothers) - a 4 year starter in football and lacrosse Simonton scored over 50 goals as a freshman in 2019, he is a 3 time State All-Star and a 2021 US Lacrosse All-American. He likes to use his size to navigate his way to better angles when going to the net. Wishing that we saw more of him this summer. We are assuming he will be busy playing football this fall, so make sure he is on your watchlist in the spring (if he is still uncommitted).
Midfield (4):
Jacob Hauser from Episcopal School of Jacksonville FL, Florida Crabs, North Florida Stars (Varsity Basketball player at ESJ) - another kid we can't wait to see play more but from what we observed he has great quickness and smooth hands. Watched him put an opponent on skates with some fast footwork at the Rivalry on the River this spring.
Jonathan Kerr from Henry B. Plant High School FL, 3d Florida - quick and shifty with the ball forcing defenders to have to keep up, he feeds and finishes well when space opens.
Henry Konsker (M/A) from St. John Paul II Academy FL (formerly at Wellington High School FL, Florida Elite, Swashbucklers, Florida Aces - We first noticed Henry a couple of seasons ago during club ball where his outside shot grabbed our immediate attention. Konsker began the 2021 season at SJPII as starting crease attack where he worked off ball to create quick stick opportunities for himself, but his role expanded halfway through the season when he became starting offensive midfielder who was responsible for initiating offense from up top. Versatile offensive weapon who plays with the same grit you often see from many of the players in the SJPII program.
Chase Minacci from Jesuit High School Tampa FL, 3d Florida (Varsity Volleyball Player at Jesuit) - Minacci's athleticism should have him on the radar of most college coaches in the country, he plays well on either end of the field and makes good decisions in transition. Like Konsker, we first noticed Minacci during club ball showing off a nice outside shot and we are still yearning for more.
Face-off (1):
Jim Williams from Franklin High School TN, No Excuse - quickly noticed his speed and strength on face-offs the first time we laid eyes on him during a Braveheart OT club game. Williams has put in the time, effort and planning that it takes to excel from a non traditional area and has trained for years with players who have graduated from top D1 programs. We usually like to talk crossover skills from other sports like football or basketball, but how about from the snare drum this time? Williams credits his snare drum playing with helping his speed, timing and wrist strength. Leave it to a kid from the Nashville area to transition musical talent to the face-off dot. He plays the snare on a top 20 band in the nation, seems like this kid grinds for perfection daily. Ivy League take note, Williams is nearly flawless in the classroom! Big lacrosse future ahead for this one if he is granted the right opportunity.
D/LSM (2):
A.J. Rosacker (D/LSM) from St. John Paul II Academy FL (formerly at American Heritage Schools Delray FL), Florida Elite - A.J. is an exciting player to watch, high energy and gritty whose footwork makes him difficult to beat on D, he will get the ball on the ground, pick it up and go, will also shoot if you don't force it out of his stick. Stock rising after making the UA All-American roster this summer. Don't sleep on A.J.
Reed Watters (LSM) from Boone High School FL, True Prospect, True Florida, Always Sunny Elite - Reed mixes a long reach with a wide array of checks that he uses to surprise ball carriers and force turnovers. He also likes to use his speed, footwork and ball handling skills in transition where he makes smart plays but will burn you with a good, hard shot if you don't step up and stop him from attacking cage.
Goaltending (1):
Drew Gregory from Oceanside Collegiate Academy SC, Sweetlax Loggerheads, Sweetlax Krakens - high energy keeper who is athletic in cage making stops and preventing rebounds, moves around a lot on the clear and can dish the ball with either hand. We are sure lots of programs must have their eye on him especially after being named a US Lacrosse All-American in 2021. Accomplished baseball player until focusing on lacrosse in high school.
While we have seen the rest of the boys compete whom are listed below, we'll need to see more of them to confidently describe their game. We may not be ready to describe them yet, but we can say that we have seen enough of them to know that these boys should be on the radar of college coaches nationwide:

Evan Amato from Ponte Vedra High School FL (formerly at Naperville Central High School in Illinois), East Ave Elite, Titanium Elite

Michael Moreschi from Oak Hall School FL, 3d National, 3d Florida (3 Sport Athlete playing Varsity Basketball and Soccer at Oak Hall)
Ford Stratton from Woodward Academy GA, Thunder (Varsity Basketball player at Woodward)
