Welcome to DSLR's NCAA monthly Commitment Roundup for July powered by USA Lax Commits where we are pleased to report a total of 33 high school boys from the Deep South have committed to play college lacrosse. This month's report includes 9 new recruits who will be joining NCAA D1 programs and 1 commit who comes from the 2023 class. In addition, we report 1 switched commitment in Georgia, 2 new football recruits from North Carolina, and 4 honorable mentions for D1 commits from kids who may not live in the South, but they do play with national programs based out of Atlanta. Please note, our area of coverage in the Deep South consists of the 9 states east/northeast of Texas (AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MS, NC, SC, and TN).
Florida led all states this month with 12 new commits, followed by North Carolina with 11, Georgia with 6, South Carolina with 2, and 1 each from Louisiana and Tennessee. North Carolina placed five D1 recruits in July, while Georgia followed with 3, and Florida placed the final 1. Georgia placed the only 2023 commit on July 1, the day the recruitment period opened for service academies, when Roswell's Hill Plunkett became the nation's first 2023 to announce his commitment which was to Army West Point. Robert "Skip" Coolidge - 2022 Attackman at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Fort Lauderdale/formerly at American Heritage Schools in Plantation (Krakens Sweetlax, Florida Crabs, Florida Surge, Team 91 Florida) committed to play D2 lacrosse at Flagler College (FL) in the Peach Belt Conference.
Nico DeGance - 2022 Midfielder at Duncan U. Fletcher High School in Neptune Beach (Florida Crabs, North Florida Stars) committed to play D2 lacrosse at Flagler College (FL) in the Peach Belt Conference.
Zakary Edwards - 2021 Defenseman at Fort Myers High School in Fort Myers committed to play D2 lacrosse at Adelphi University (NY) in the Northeast-10 Conference.
Reid Kerr - 2022 Goaltender at William T. Dwyer High School in Palm Beach Gardens (Sweetlax Krakens, Palm Beach United, Creator's Game, Dukes LC, Florida Swashbucklers) committed to play D2 lacrosse at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (FL) in the Sunshine State Conference.
Joey Luczak - 2022 Defenseman at Ponte Vedra High School in Ponte Vedra (Florida Crabs/Next Level) committed to play D3 lacrosse at Roanoke College (VA) in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.
Sean Mahoney - 2022 Midfielder/FO Specialist at Canterbury High School in Fort Myers/formerly at Bishop Verot Catholic High School in Fort Myers (Old Bay Lacrosse) committed to play D3 lacrosse at Grove City College (PA) in the Presidents' Athletic Conference.

Jack Rogers - 2022 FO Specialist at North Gwinnett High School in Suwanee (7 Flames Lacrosse/Atlanta Empire/3d Florida) committed to play D1 lacrosse at the Virginia Military Institute (VA) in the Southern Conference.
Elijah Towne - 2021 Defenseman at Harrison High School in Kennesaw committed to play college football and lacrosse at Methodist University (NC) who play D3 lacrosse in the USA South Athletic Conference (this commitment happened in May).
Changed commitment: Connor Gross - 2021 SSDM/FO Specialist at River Ridge High School in Woodstock (Atlanta Lacrosse Club) changed his committment from NAIA Reinhardt University to D2 Coker University (SC) in the South Atlantic Conference.
