January 2021 NCAA Commitment Round Up: 26 boys commit from the Deep South

We are pleased to report that in the month of December a total of 26 high school boys from the Deep South verbally committed to play NCAA lacrosse, with 4 of them planning to join D1 programs. Please note, our area of coverage in the Deep South consists of the 9 states east/northeast of Texas (AL, AR, FL, GA, LA, MS, NC, SC, and TN).


North Carolina led all states with 8 commitments, followed by Florida with 6, Georgia with 5, South Carolina with 4, Arkansas with 2, and Alabama with 1. North Carolina placed two D1 commits last month, while Florida and Georgia placed 1 each. The following is the list of the players from the Deep South who committed to college programs in the month of January:


Aiden Taylor - 2021 Defenseman at MXB Prep Academy in Massachusetts/formerly at Oak Mountain High School in Birmingham (Thunder LB3/3D/Greater Birmingham Youth Lacrosse Association) committed to play DIII lacrosse at Alvernia University (PA) in the Middle Atlantic Conference Commonwealth.



Trent Jolley - 2021 Midfielder at Pulaski Academy in Little Rock (Chaos Lacrosse) committed to play JUCO lacrosse at Potomac State College (WV) in the National Junior Collegiate Athletic Association.

Dylon Ruby - 2021 Attackman and Midfielder at Bryant High School in Bryant (Bryant Lacrosse Club) committed to play DIII lacrosse at Hendrix College (AR) in the Southern Athletic Association.



Daniel Cardoza - 2021 Defenseman at Immokalee High School in Immokalee (Immokalee Venom Lacrosse) committed to play DII lacrosse at Adams State University (CO) in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Kade Golberg - 2021 Midfielder at Deerfield Academy in Massachusetts (Delray Beach native) switched his D1 commitment to play lacrosse from the University of North Carolina to Georgetown University (DC) in the Big East Conference.

Louis Lewis - 2021 LSM at Immokalee High School in Immokalee committed to play NAIA lacrosse at Clarke University (IA) in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.

Bobby Melia - 2021 Defenseman at Winter Park High School in Winter Park (True Lacrosse Florida/Always Sunny Lacrosse) committed to play DII lacrosse at Coker University (SC) in the South Atlantic Conference.

Ryan Paulson - 2021 Defenseman at Niceville High School in Niceville (Krakens Sweetlax/850 Lacrosse Club) committed to play DII lacrosse at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University (FL) in the Sunshine State Conference.

Victor Troese - 2021 Midfielder at North Broward Preparatory School in Coconut Creek (Florida Swashbucklers Lacrosse) committed to play DIII lacrosse at Neumann College (PA in the Atlantic East Conference.



Sam Blake - 2021 Attackman at Marin Catholic High School in California (West Coast Starz/Thunder LB3) committed to play D1 lacrosse at Sacred Heart University (CT) in the Northeast Conference. The California native plays for Atlanta's Thunder LB3 program regularly.

Connor Daugherty - 2021 Defenseman at West Forsyth High School in Cumming (West Forsyth Wolverines) committed to play DIII lacrosse at Westminster College (PA) in the Presidents' Athletic Conference.

Ayden Key - 2021 Defenseman and LSM at Lakeside High School in Evans committed to play DII lacrosse at Emmanuel College (GA) in Conference Carolinas.

Burke Schrimsher - 2021 Defenseman at Darlington School in Rome committed to play MCLA lacrosse at the University of Montana (MT) in the Pacific Northwest Collegiate Lacrosse League.

Jack Weilandt - 2021 Attackman and Midfielder at Alpharetta High School in Alpharetta (Atlanta Lacrosse Club) committed to play NAIA lacrosse at Keiser University (FL) in the Sun Conference.



Daniel Ando - 2021 Goaltender at Hoggard High School in Wilmington (Cape Fear Shamrocks) committed to play DIII lacrosse at William Peace University (NC) in the USA South Athletic Conference.

Hunter Bradley - 2021 Attackman at Topsail High School in Hampstead (Cape Fear Shamrocks) committed to play DII lacrosse at Catawba College (NC) in the South Atlantic Conference.

Aiden Ennett - 2021 Attackman at Jack Britt High School in Fayetteville committed to play DIII lacrosse at the University of Dubuque (IA) in The College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin.


Jack Nemeth - 2021 Attackman at Page High School in Greensboro (NC Fusion Lacrosse) committed to play DIII lacrosse at Hampden Sydney College (VA) in the Old Dominion Athletic Conference.

Trey Parks - 2022 Midfielder at Hoggard High School in Wilmington (Cape Fear Shamrocks) committed to play D1 lacrosse at Hofstra University (NY) in the Colonial Athletic Association.

Brett Reynolds - 2021 F/O Specialist at The Hill School in Pennsylvania/formerly at Chapel Hill High School in Chapel Hill (LI Sting/Team 91 Carolina) committed to play D1 lacrosse at Colgate University (NY) in the Patriot League. Reynolds initially committed to Furman University in July 2019 as a '20, but Furman disbanded their lacrosse program in May 2020 as a result of financial loss due to COVID19, so Brett reclassed to 2021 and is instead spending a PG year at The Hill School before heading to Colgate in the fall of 2021.

Zack Riepl - 2021 Defenseman at Chapel Hill High School in Chapel Hill (Carolina Hilltoppers Elite) committed to play DIII lacrosse at Ohio Northern University (OH) in the Ohio Athletic Conference (this commitment happened in September 2020).


Dalton Wilkins - 2021 LSM at Northern Guilford High School in Greensboro (NC Fusion Lacrosse) committed to play DII lacrosse at North Greenville University (SC) in Conference Carolinas.




Rob Gadomski - 2021 Midfielder at May River High School in Bluffton (Break-Thru Lacrosse/True Lacrosse Florida) committed to play DII lacrosse at Lander University (SC) in Conference Carolinas.

James Leland - Midfielder at Camden Military Academy in Camden committed to play DII lacrosse at Coker University (SC) in the South Atlantic Conference.


Jake Lipscomb - 2021 Goaltender at Boiling Springs High School in Boiling Springs committed to play DIII lacrosse at Warren Wilson College (NC) which is independent.

John Lombel - 2021 Defenseman at J.L. Mann High School in Greenville committed to play DII lacrosse at Lincoln Memorial University (TN) in the South Atlantic Conference (this commitment happened in December).
